Leland 2045
The plan for Leland focused primarily on managing accelerated growth in ways that guide Leland’s future toward a more place-based community with its own identity next to Wilmington. Future growth outside of the existing town limits was modeled in scenarios so that broad patterns for environmental protection, nodes, community types, and connectivity could be articulated on maps that will guide future planning. Two areas that were of the highest priority were modeled at a small area plan scale to show how the principles and strategies created at a regional scale would hit the ground and shape community and neighborhood forms.
