The Wilkesboro Public Space Plan included a masterplan that was inspired by the work of NC Main Street. We worked with the community on a public space and streetscape plan that would fuel future investment in the downtown. In addition to the masterplan, design plans were created for the first phase of streets, the grounds of the historic museum, and what would become the central gathering space of the city. The central gathering space included a stage designed by Samsel Associates, a place for a farmer’s market, lawn area for free play, and a dance floor.
